Andras Guttman received the Molnar Award from Imre Molnár, the founder of Molnár Institute of Berlin, and as a part of the prize, the institute donated 30,000€ worth software license by providing full access to DryLab software for the University of Pannonia. The awarding ceremony was held within the confines of the Chemical Engineering Days conference at 17th of April 2019 in Veszprém. The program was open for the press and was followed by a news conference as well.

The Molnár Institute is one of the leading companies in the field of separation sciences and liquid chromatography. The CEO and company owner is Imre Molnár himself whose goal is granting safety and efficiency for pharmaceutical and food industry. The DryLab software, developed by the institute, is a unique system which can model chromatography separations helping in finding the optimal conditions. Thankfully to these simulations, improving the resolution and effectiveness of the real life analysis can be achieved in minutes and without wasting resources on probing experiments. And most importantly, by finding the optimal setup for food or drug control, the industry can provide the reliability and accuracy every time.

This cost effective method development can also be beneficial for university by saving time and money from the beginning of any research project. The Molnár Institute, in form of a strategical cooperation, offered a long term collaboration with University of Pannonia, which hopefully become prosperous for both side and be a good example for other companies to support the research teams of the university.

Researcher’s Night  - Initiative of the European Commission

This event aims to present the importance of Research and Developement (R&D) and to make research carriers attratcive for everyone.

Night of the Murder

Field: Medical Sciences

Organiser: University of Debrecen

Our participants: Boglárka Döncző, Zsuzsanna Kovács, Máté Szarka, Bence Németh

Our program: Our research focuses on the early detection of different cancer types based on analysis of carbohydrates. Human saliva samples are appropriate resourses of charbohydrates. After fluorescent labeling the free carbohydrates can be analysed by capillary electrophoresis. Every tissue have it’s own N-glycan profile. The change in this profile or in the sugar structures could predict different diseases.

This night you could investigate a crime with modern glycomic methods and get an insight into our laboratory work.

(The case is imaginary, the method is real).
